A lever is a tool used to lift heavy objects with minimal force. Depending on the position of the fulcrum, the force and direction of the object being lifted can vary. The lever is divided into three types depending on the location of the force point, fulcrum, and action point. Class 1 levers follow the order of action point, fulcrum, and force point. A pair of scissors is a typical example of class 1 levers. The bottle opener follows the class 2 lever system which follows the order of fulcrum, action point, and force point.
