Suitable for: Ages 4-8
Issue 1: In this inaugural issue of STEAM Explorers – Exploring Endless Possibilities, we acknowledge the human body as a brilliant machine made up of many important parts. We go on a learning journey involving the bones, the lungs and the brain, while descriptions and illustrations of the body structure culminate into an innate introduction to our inner workings.
Children will discover the integration of the body’s organs and their operations within more than one bodily system. Hands on experiments shed light on understanding just how important this nuanced partnership is in ensuring that the body functions systematically.
STEAM does not have to be complicated as tips and fun-filled facts for co-discoverers are shared in an easy to understand and engaging manner.

Issue 2: With this issue of STEAM Explorers – Through the Kaleidoscope Eyes; energy takes centre stage as an essential force that is prevalent in our everyday lives. We take an in-depth look into Light Energy as our number one ally in the miracle of Sight.
Have you ever wondered about the essential roles energy plays in our lives? How about the properties of light and its role in our day to day activities?
From nurturing the growth of plant life, to covering the Earth in a blanket of warmth, children will gain a keen understanding about the Sun being the largest and most vital source of light and heat. Creating dazzling colours of the rainbow with a simple Compact Disc (CD) is just one of the many colourful spectrums of light we will be diving into, as you flip through the kaleidoscopic pages of light and energy.
Issue 3: STEAM Explorers takes on a new kind of force in this issue – Push & Pull. In the 1600s, a great English scientist named William Gilbert suggested that the Earth is a giant magnet! This is probably why, one of the first bits of science explored by most children has to be magnets.
Have you wondered why these forces behave the way they do? What exactly gives magnets that innate ability to attract objects made of iron or steel? How do magnetic fields come about within regions of space?
We answer all these questions and more through the discoveries of forces created by magnetic fields in attracting and repelling.
Your child will begin his/her exploration of magnetic forces by learning about the properties and tools surrounding everyday objects like the compass. Discover how this simple tool points us in the right direction by allowing moving charges to give rise to magnetic fields, thus creating electrical currents and much, much more.
Issue 4: STEAM Explorers takes a walk on the wild side with this issue – The Animal Kingdom. We examine fascinating groups of organisms that include over a million different species of animals. How can you actually define an animal? Where do they live? What do they all have in common?
We will answer all these questions and more, as we dig deeper into the various animal classifications: Mammals, Fishes, Birds, Insects, Reptiles and Amphibians.
Using their blubber, polar bears somehow manage to keep warm even in freezing temperatures. Children will discover just how they are able to do so, together with the characteristics of different animals and how they aid them in the course of their daily lives.
Tiny ants working together to build their very own farm made up of recycled materials; we turn the spotlight on this phenomenon together with other animal classifications and their habitats.
Issue 5: STEAM Explorers. The Universe takes centre stage in this issue of STEAM Explorers – The Journey to Space. Our solar system is our home; one big family consisting of our very own stars. wandering comets, neighbouring planets and
their corresponding moons. It makes one wonder…
When was the solar system formed? What are the planets that make up this zero-gravity family in space? And… did someone get kicked out?
Children will be taken on a roller coaster ride around our Sun and its family of eight planets, their dozens of moons and the wanderers of the solar system – comets. It was once said that stepping foot on the moon was a giant leap for mankind. Since then, we have gone on to find out about the several other planets that orbit our Sun, through space missions and rovers.
Discover the secret behind creating your very own moon phases cup, as we learn more about our moon, the closest space object to our planet, and how it affects us. Learn fun filled facts about the stars and even create your own constellations, through innovative activities.
Issue 6: STEAM Explorers. In this final instalment of STEAM Explorers – The Life Cycle; everything truly comes full circle. We explore day and night together with the many different types of cycles taking place around us everyday.
We discover how the life cycles of all plants and animals culminate in living things changing and maturing over time. Growing an avocado seed into an avocado plant with the help of materials that can be found around the house is just the tip of the ice berg, as children acquire a keen understanding of the processes associated with the various cycles within our solar system.
We also shine the spotlight on the water cycle. Have you ever wondered where water comes from before reaching the pipes in your home? The world’s water supply moves between lakes, rivers, oceans, the atmosphere and the land in an ongoing cycle known as the water cycle. Through fun and engaging activities, children will develop a clear and concise understanding of the water cycle and its different stages, while understanding the importance of climate change and water conservation.
Issue 7: In Issue 7, we uncover why The Human Body is termed as A Perfect Machine! Learn how our system of different sub-systems work together in a dynamic and efficient manner. Explore how our dental structure plays a vital role as the starting point of our digestive system. Have you ever wondered what causes us to feel pain and other emotions? Discover why humans need blood to survive and why are our eyes the windows to our soul?
Issue 8: Let’s explore more about our planet Earth in the Giant Sphere Issue. Understand how the oceans of the world and continents become a large part of Earth. Learn how current phenomena of climate change and natural disasters contribute to the atmosphere around us; appreciate and find out how we can protect our planet and avoid pollution that will destroy many animal species, ecosystems and humans too!
Issue 9: In issue 9, we shall discover the mysterious deep water wilderness. Learn the different ocean layers and the creatures that live within. Understand these unique and amazing creatures and how they survive. Do you know that earthquakes occured in the oceans too? You will definitely be mesmerised with endless interesting facts shared in this issue!
